Hello!
I'm

A Junior studying economics at Harvard and computer science at MIT.
I‘m Lucas Chu.
I was born in Germany, grew up in NY, and went and dropped out of Harvard to cofound DAOHQ, the world's first DAO marketplace. I exited it last year.
Over Spring 2023, I worked at a16z’s CSS incubator on Plurigrid.xyz, A16Z led a $40m into gensyn.ai, which was working on the same idea/vertical.
Over the summer, I helped found https://cerebralvalley.ai and run hackathons with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Hugging Face.

I exited it last year. Over Spring 2023, I worked at a16z’s CSS incubator on Plurigrid.xyz; A16Z led a $40m into gensyn.ai, which was working on the same idea/vertical.
Over the summer, I helped found https://cerebralvalley.ai and run hackathons with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Hugging Face.In my junior year, I took 20 courses, and I have worked on over 20 research projects for research partners like Stanford GSB Venture Capital Initiative, McKinsey, and Steve Ballmer's USAFacts.
I also organized a campus-wide datathon with the metaLAB and supported by the Harvard Data Science Initiative (making me one of the youngest researchers at Harvard).
Over the summer of 2020, I founded Erevna, which hosts research projects and hackathons for over ten thousand students. Fall 2021, I worked with the Census Bureau, the metaLAB @ Harvard, and Opportunity Insights, where I helped write a paper covered on the front page of the New York Times and other newspapers.
One initiative (of a dozen that I helped found) under Erevna, Policython.org, resulted in the creation of hundreds of policy briefs, including research that reallocated $20b+ in federal funding (the second stimulus check).
In my academic journey, I have strived for excellence across various domains. At MIT, I've maintained a perfect GPA of 5.0, building upon my high school GPA of 4.0 and a weighted GPA of 4.38. My standardized test scores reflect my dedication to academic rigor, achieving a flawless ACT score of 36 and a perfect SAT score of 1600. Further showcasing my commitment to learning, I earned 5s on all 8 AP exams I undertook.
Beyond academics, I've been deeply involved in extracurricular pursuits. In high school, I held leadership roles as Civil Air Patrol Cadet Captain, Student Government President, and History Bowl Team Captain, leading my team to a state championship victory. Additionally, I balanced my academic commitments with athletic endeavors, competing on the Varsity Crew team and earning a spot on the Junior Varsity squads in five different sports.
My thirst for knowledge led me to seek supplementary learning opportunities. I enriched my education through programs such as the Stanford Online High School and the Columbia University Science Honors Program, where I engaged with advanced coursework and expanded my intellectual horizons.
During summers, I didn't rest on my laurels. Instead, I actively pursued diverse interests and contributed to my community. From participating in Boy Scout and SCUBA camps to attending STEM and Glider Academies, I immersed myself in hands-on learning experiences. I furthered my passion for mathematics at the Areteem Math Camp and dedicated a summer to service with Habitat for Humanity, where I played a pivotal role in raising $240k. Each summer was not just a break, but an opportunity to grow, learn, and give back.
